North Haven High School is seeking a Volunteer Assistant Coach for its Boys’ Basketball Team. The responsibilities for this job include, but are not limited to: 

• Work and communicate with the North Haven Athletic Department, including the athletic director and administrative assistant in all necessary capacities 
• Supervise student-athletes at all times, including all practices and games 
• Supervise student-athletes during transportation to and from “away” games 
• Assist head coach in scheduling, organizing, preparing and implementing practice sessions on a regular basis to develop the student-athletes’ greatest potential 
• Demonstrate positive characteristics and serve as a role model for student-athletes 
• Assume all duties assigned by head coach
• Assist head coach in maintaining accurate inventory/record of equipment and uniforms and assist in submitting an itemized report at the end of each season to the athletic director 
• Assist head coach in being responsible for constant care of equipment and facilities 
• Assist head coach in communicating effectively with parents as it relates to student-athletes, which includes being a part of preseason meeting 

The successful candidate must possess, or be working towards a Connecticut Coaches Certification (must be in place before the season begins); be CPR, AED and First Aid certified before the first practice; have previous coaching and/or playing experience with the sport.
